My home away from home

Welcome to my ‘home’ away from ‘home’ and I have to say, there are some exciting things happening  at SR that will soon affect this blog – in a good way though.    The newest trends to surface on SharedReviews.com continues as the work continues that will allow SR to emerge as a fabulous butterfly from it’s cocoon stage as a young start-up the past 3 years.    Shared Reviews is getting even better!  The owners of SR think and believe that listening to the feedback of their community, looking forward to new and up and coming trends and directions, and  knowing that there are ways to do things or that can be implemented that will push everything up to yet another amazing level!  Those of you who have been with SR for some time (or since it first launched in October 2007) l already know just how dedicated everyone there really is.  For those of you reading this for the first time, if you have been looking for a site on the net that not only offers you ways to earn but also gives you a true sense of belonging, solid friendships and a great atmosphere that is dedicated to help you become better at your writing craft – then you will want to JOIN today if you haven’t done so already.

Joining Shared Reviews and why NOW is perfect timing!

For the past few years (SR has been around now for almost 3 years having launched in October 2007) the community and the owners of SharedReviews.com have worked in unison to build a community that believes in sharing, supporting and improving.

There are a number of members who came to Shared Reviews without any previous experience as writers yet today they are proud to be able to share their writing with others and not just on the SR site either.  Others had years of writing experience but not in a Product/Service review capacity yet they too found a voice with SR that encourages them to continue to put into words the experiences they have with the purchase and use of items, places or services.  Still others, myself included, have been writing for years and found SR to be a fit that seemed to work well for our needs whether we were interested in freelancing or were simply trying to get feedback for our style of writing.

No matter how you look at it though, SharedReviews.com has and continues to be a site that provides writers – freelance or otherwise – with the potential to continue to grow, sharpen and excel within a community that is dedicated to supporting you every step of the way.

There has been a lot of construction going on over at SR and part of the new feature launch was revealed to members on Sept. 1, 2010 while other areas are promised to be rolled out over the next few weeks.

SharedReviews.com has been testing a number of things over the past several months, the least of which has been the offering of writing assignments to a small handful of testers.  This testing phase proved so successful that it was immediately decided that SharedReviews would implement it into their model.  In order to do this however, they needed to first address a few things that over the months had begun to require attention.

Although the revamping only began to take place visually over the last month or so with a larger change rolled out Sept 1/2010, there are still more changes due to come into effect over the next weeks through Sept and Oct.  What we have seen so far though is a strong indication of some great things yet to come!

Almost everyone knows and understands the advantages that come with being on the ground floor of something.  Despite the obvious dips, curves and bumps that might develop there is also a great deal of opportunity as well.  With new ways of doing things, you can enjoy a new momentum of interest, interactivity and sharing.  In an environment where a strengthening of certain things is necessary, you find a chance to lend your voice to the overall testing and operations.  You become an integral part of something that once working like clockwork, you can enjoy the role that you played in it.  Best of all though, is the fact that when you join during a revamp of the magnitude that is taking place with SR right now, you are on the same level playing field that every single member, even those who have been around for ever, have.  Granted, the older members may have more written material up, they may have a better understanding of some of the ground rules and they may even hold a Badge of Honor that you will want to work at to obtain for yourself.  Overall though, by joining now, you also have the benefit of meeting a large number of individuals who want to see YOU succeed!  When you succeed, they succeed and vice versa.

Today SR is on Track for continued growth and success and YOU can help make it even better!

Among some of the changes that are filtering through now, as a member, you can take advantage of this period over the next few months, to actually begin to “feather your nest”.  By signing up as a member today you will begin to discover the thousands of friends that are waiting to support you and help you become a stronger, better and more successful writer.

You will also discover the opportunity to begin writing right away if you’d like – even though the payment aspect is on hiatus during the revamping of the site – this doesn’t mean that you won’t benefit later when it really counts.  By publishing content now, you can easily get a head start on your library of work and that can be a definite plus when the site begins to operate at full tilt.  Other members will then be able to provide you with constructive criticism to assist you in tightening up your skills.  They will also then be able to point out areas of strength that you can build upon while strengthening any areas where you may be slightly weak.

Every single person who reads your work will have the opportunity to lend you a little more self-confidence, pride and success in your own personal and continued development.

The Voting segment of the old SR model has been phased out which means that members no longer need other members to vote on their work.  Instead, there will be ratings put into place, Badges that are attainable, levels available that will reward contributions and so much more.  There will also be opportunities to earn writing assignments (paid of course) over and above any writing you may do for product reviews.

As the changes at SR take place, I’ll begin to make changes here as well, so those of you who visit here fairly often, you may see some dust now and then.
